As an applicant for membership in the Olympia Amateur Radio Society, I agree to abide by the club’s by-laws, and this Code of Conduct.
Regulatory Compliance: I will operate my station in strict accordance with all applicable national regulations (e.g., FCC Part 97) and international treaties governing the Amateur Radio Service.
On-Air Decorum: I will maintain a high standard of courtesy, politeness, and professionalism on the air. I will not engage in malicious interference, use profanity, or discuss prohibited topics (such as commercial business interests or political/religious tirades) on club-sponsored repeaters or frequencies.
Respectful Interpersonal Conduct: I will treat all club members, guests, and members of the public with respect, both on the air and during in-person meetings, public service events, and digital forums (e.g., club emails, Discord, or social media). Harassment, discrimination, or personal attacks will not be tolerated.
Stewardship of Club Property: I will respect and safely utilize club equipment, repeater sites, and facilities. I will not alter, manipulate, or use club assets without explicit authorization from the Board of Directors.
Support of the Club’s Mission: I will constructively support club activities, including public service communications, licensing classes, and community outreach, to the best of my ability.
